Can I take recourse if I think I didn't get a job because of my age?

I had a job interview where I believe I was overly qualified, and the phone interview went great. After meeting the hiring manager, things seemed off right when I arrived and the interview was very short. I believe this was because of my age (I'm 47). What actions can I take if I believe I was discriminated against because of my age?

  • In general, it is very difficult to prove age discrimination. However, age discrimination is against the Equal Employment Opportunity law, so if you feel that you have a rightful claim, you should contact the EEOC.
