My manager hasn't provided me a place to express breast milk

I recently came back to work a month after giving birth. I still have my same job, but I have no place to express my breast-milk, other than the bathroom. Doesn't my employer need to provide a place for me to do that?

  • It really depends on the size of your company, and whether it would place an "undue hardship" on the employer.
If there are more than 50 employers, your company would need to provide a private place to go that isn't a restroom. If there are less than 50 employees, if providing this space would place an undue hardship to your employer, then they wouldn't be obligated to provide you with one. Certain states have additional protection as well as if any collective bargaining regarding this matter may afford you additional protection.
